Designer Spotlight: Ruthie Davis

So I stumbled upon this shoe designer recently as I have a major obsession with shoes lol. Even though I am always drooling over a pair of Christian Louboutins, YSL or the super hard to get, coveted Isabel Marant sneaker wedge, this design diva does not get enough credit!

Her name is Ruthie Davis! A Connecticut bred girl with a passion for design (CT Stand Up! Lol), who launched her own line in 2006, after breathing new life into brands like Reebok and uber popular UGG Australia, transforming the sleepy surfer boot into a fashion statement desired among all ages. Her designs have caught the eyes of devoted fans like Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Fergie, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez.

She is known for her architectural shapes, elevated mix of materials, quality and amazing color allowing each shoe to have a point of view, as well as a point of difference, with never-ending creativity. I love that she is also very hands on with the brand, sketching all of her shoe designs by hand!

Ruthie Davis shoes are for women with a strong sense of style and self, much like the designer herself! Her line can be found in major retailers like Saks, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus as well as online at her website and has been recognized as a work of art at the New Britain Museum of American Art in an exhibit of her shoe designs called “Ruthie Davis: COUTURE FUTURISTIC DESIGN”.

She is proof that no matter where you are from, you can make your dreams come to reality if you work hard toward your goals. Connecticut is definitely not known for fashion or the fashion industry, but she made it work regardless of the odds!

Check her out!!
