So you guys know that I absolutely can not say NO to a fabulous pair of shoes, RIGHT? Over the past few months i have stumbled upon a fabulous new designer who makes this gorgeous collection of shoes! Sophia Webster, a trendsetting, young British designer, has been stomping onto red carpets with her whimsical take on footwear.
Her collection for SS2013 launched after working as design assistant to designer Nicholas Kirkwood. Her designs have been seen on the likes of Kourtney Kardashian, fashion killer Rihanna and naturalnista Solange Knowles!
Check out a few of my favorites!

Let me just started off by saying how dang-on hot it was this weekend! I am not built for the type of heat that makes pizzas y’all and Connecticut had it! Lol. While my skin was frying, I was absolutely honored to be invited to a spectacular fashion event for an amazing cause!
The 4th Annual Strut 4 Fashion Show, where charity meets fashion was produced by Carmen Veal of Sani Auri Swimwear and Hope 4 Autism, Inc.
The show featured many talented local designers and business women who I did not know existed right here in my own backyard! It’s amazing how much talent exists in Connecticut and I am proud to be bringing it to my readers! All Proceeds from the show were to benefit the Hope 4 Autism Wellness Center’s Autism Play Groups. Hope 4 Autism is an organization offering services to those living with autism and those affected my autism.
Here’s some hotness from the runway!

While I did not do much relaxing in this extremely hot weather, I did pull out my trusty go to look, the maxi dress. This has been my favorite look for the past couple summers. It is so chic, quick to slip on and the easiest piece to dress up or down– and who doesn’t love to accessorize?!
It never fails, that every year I see some summer time fashion woes in these extreme temps, but ladies not matter how hot it gets you gotta keep it cool! Here’s some things that I keep in mine when wearing my maxis!
1. Always wear the right undergarments! Convertible bras are a maxi’s best friend! It works whether you’re wearing a strapless dress, one shoulder or “spaghetti” strapped style. Boy shorts are usually the best undies to pair with your maxi- no one likes to feel or see the effects of “maxi wedgie”.
2. What’s on your feet?! If you’re not a heels kinda girl, flat sandals with fun jewels, cool hardware or leather weaving can help you achieve a sassy look! For those who like to stand sky high like myself, wedges are great for a day to night look and strappy sandals can really take it up a notch for a night out!
3. Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize! Since a maxi is usually just one piece, you can really jazz it up a bit. My go to accessories are stacked bangles, long necklaces, skinny belts and cocktail rings! Some maxis depending on the prints and colors won’t need all my favorites, so don’t get crazy! Ok so I know I am a little late on life but a sista is busy! I had to make sure I shared my favorite looks from this years BET Awards 2013.
As always, there was some hits and misses, but I found a few stars to be absolutely gorgeous!
Actress Regina Hall looked fabulous in a UK brand “Missguided” Vany Contrast Mesh Midi dress. The dress features faux-leather trims and illusion cut-out details. She paired it with Jimmy Choo Sandals
Janelle Monae kept it signature with a gorgeous pant suit by Dolce and Gabbana and paired it with Jimmy Choo Sandals. I would like to see her switch it up a little without loosing her classic look.
Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon was super hot in a Michael Costello dress and jeweled-out Roberto Cavalli Sandals. I also love her new line of vegan nail polish, Fetish!
Rap artist EVE was super cute! I aboslutely loved her simple look with amazing pops of color. Seems like she was super secretive on who she was wearing, but can we have a moment of silence for the amazing shoes she was rocking!
Here’s a close up!
Last but not least, Letoya Luckett kept it simple chic in her SEN couture romper paired with Prada shoes. I love the twisted neck detail on this piece!
Who was Your favorite look of the night? I wanna hear from you, so drop a comment below!
