Met Gala 2017 – Art of the In-Between

Met Gala 2017 – Art of the In-Between

Heyyyy Yall!

This is actually one of my favorite events of every year because I love to see what the attendees choose and what the designers created to fit the theme. This year’s theme is “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between”

Rei Kawakubo is the 74-year-old designer behind the fashion label Comme des Garçons, which she started in Tokyo in 1969.

She started Comme des Garçons, which means “like boys” in French, because she was working as a stylist and couldn’t find any clothes she liked.
She is known for her experimental and unorthodox designs and the ability to change the way people look and think about beauty, good taste, and fashionability.
Although I don’t really feel like the attendees represented Kawakubo’s edgy & over the top design style, check out my favorites in their ode to Ms. Kawakubo!

Listen! I would wear this walking down the street being all types of extra! I love this look on Priyanka Chopra by Ralph Lauren.

Rihanna always gets it right! Wearing a Kawakubo design & dsquared2 shoes.

Blake never disappoints! Love this look by Atelier Versace

This Chanel pant suit on model Cara Delevigne is SUPER dope!

Yasssss Cassie! And I love her statement earring

Rita Ora in Marchesa

Tracee Ellis Ross also in a Kawakubo (comme de garçons) look!

Love Zendaya in Dolce & Gabbana! She looks like a total doll!

The Real Oscars Red Carpet | Vanity Fair After Party

The Real Oscars Red Carpet | Vanity Fair After Party

Hey y’all!

Despite the crazy award mix up with Moonlight and La La Land, not to mention Halle Berry’s lopsided wig at this year’s Oscar Awards, there were still some fabulous looks on the red carpet this year that I absolutely adored. Those looks pretty much go to Janelle Monae, , Hailee Steinfeld, and Viola Davis.

Viola Davis

But y’all know “After the show, it’s the After Party” so the REAL fabulousness came out during the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party. Check out my favor #VanityFairOscarsParty looks below!

Oh how I ALWAYS adore her!

Jessica Biel

I love this metallic number with the accompanying of the side cut out.
Hailee Steinfeld

I loved her sexy but modest looks on and off the red carpet!

Thandie Newton

I love the exaggerated shoulder with the pop of color, and even though her dress is sheer, the under dress still covers her nicely.

Ruth Negga

Another dress with great pop of color! Flirty and modest!

Red Carpet Round-Up | Top Five Gowns at the 2017 Golden Globes

Red Carpet Round-Up | Top Five Gowns at the 2017 Golden Globes

Hey y’all
Back at it again with the gowns! Now the Golden Globes are absolutely NOT my favorite type of award shows because I prefer a little more excitement, but I can never miss what is going down the red carpet!
All the looks I chose for my favorites aren’t your typical dresses, i.e. Super long trains or overly bedazzled. These pieces are a bit whimsical, highly couture-esque and reminds me a lot of the theme Ana Wintour chose for the 2016 the Metropolitan Museum of Art Gala, “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.”

Check out who made the list!

Zendaya Slays with her New Clothing Line!

Zendaya Slays with her New Clothing Line!

Hey ya’ll!

Today on the blog I’m excited to talk a new closing line!

Zendaya Coleman, known for her Disney Channel roles and politely shutting down negative style comments by Giuliana Rancic of a Fashion Piolice, just started a clothing line!

Daya by Zendaya, is a Fall 2016 collection, which also incorporates some of her shoe collection she started earlier in the 2016 year. The line is inspired by the streets of New York City and a crew of multicultural trendsetters.

I’m excited about this collection because she has a pretty amazing style and she is also pretty modest in the way that she puts her clothing together, which is rare these days. There are a ton of great prices UNDER $100 and the best part is her sizes run from 0 to 22, and the clothes don’t get less cute the bigger you go, so “One time for the big girls!” There are truly some great pieces for date nite, wearing to the office! Or just hanging out for the day with the girls! Check out some of my favorite pieces from the line!

This is a romper y’all….A ROMPER!! So cute!

Good American Jeans by Khloe Kardashian

Hey y’all! Happy Tuesday! Hope you guys are feeling amazing! No lupus joint pain going on today so I am great!

I am IN LOVE with Khloe Kardashian’s new denim brand GOOD AMERICAN!

She’s looking out for the real bodies..real hips, real thighs, real booties, really bellies and real cellulite lol.

Its focused fashion brand designed for a curvier, sexier and stronger shape.

I also appreciate that it’s made here in the U.S., which helps with jobs and supports charities that empower girls to realize their true potential.
The brand launches today and has 3 far from basic styles.

• Good Cuts-Heritage fit. Hip slimming.

Signature straight leg.

• Good waist- Ultra high-rise. Natural back lift. Corset slimming elasticity

• Good legs- Slim fit. Hip and leg sculpting fabric recovery technology.

Pricing is around $160 – $210
I know that may be a bit steep from some but from experience, when I have spent a good amount for my jeans they usually last a very long time! Especially when washed correctly!

My favorites are the Good Waist Jeans to help suck in this front pudge I got going on lol.

Which Good American are you?

This Week in Chic

I’m like Hey, What’s up, HELLO!!

Hey ya’ll! Lol.
This lupus fighter is having a good week so far, feeling good and not very achy, so I am WINNING and I hope you are too!
Of course, I am here for some fashion sharing with my favorite celebrity looks I discovered this week.
Most of them are from my style crushes but they all look amazing. I love the sexy, classy elegance displayed from all my choices because I am definitely not one to show major skin and definitely believe that you can cover up and still be flyer than ever!
Moving from CT to FL was definitely a shocker because everybody here is naked lol and I am so use to layering.
Anywho, check out my favorite looks this week!
