Vacation Ready | Tory Burch Resort 2015

Hey y’all!

OMG I ALMOST DIED! Okay, maybe that’s a bit extreme, but I was diagnosed with pneumonia! I couldn’t even believe it but I definitely felt horrible. Yesterday was my first day out of bed and back to work and I was super excited to see all the great new styles from the Tory Burch Resort Collection! I know most of you can’t even wrap your mind around warm weather right now judging by all the snowy and icy Facebook posts Ive been seeing on my timeline lol but that doesn’t mean you can’t prepare for when it gets warm!

For those who aren’t familiar with Tory Burch, Oprah loves her- i think that says enough right there lol. Tory is an amazing fashion designer who is well known for her Reva flats topped with her Double T Gold Logo named after her mom! Her brand was inspired by her parents who had amazing classic style by way of their clothes and home decor!

The 2015 Resort collection is inspired by the sun-bleached palette of painter Milton Avery (who also live in Connecticut-whoop whoop!); and features relaxed, structured and clean silhouettes. You will also notice the use of guipure lace and embroidery inspired by handkerchiefs owned by her mother. Super preppy with a side of sass! I love that her family inspires her designs!

Check out my favorite pieces from the collection!

How will you get vacay ready?!

Retail Sales | The Cinderella of the Fashion Industry

What my family and friends think I do…

What I think I do…

What I really do…

Funny but all true. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE working with designer brands, amazing pieces straight off the runway, and people from different walks of life, but I have to admit..sometimes I can not deal! Lol

There are times when you get to work with some really amazing people who love your style, are open to trying something different and most importantly POLITE and RESPECTFUL.

Other times, I am left feeling unappreciated especially when most consumers almost look to you as a slave (I.e. bring me this, give me that, I need this, I’m in a rush, whats on sale, picking up clothes from the floor, and smelly feet lol but true)
I absolutely love my new role as a Visual Merchandiser as I get to use personal style and creativity to promote some pretty amazing pieces.

What’s your retail experience?

Off the Runway: Lisa Perry Fall 2014

We have said goodbye to New York Fashion Week and moved right along the London Fashion Week, but I could not move along without telling you all about one of my favorite shows yet!

Designer Lisa Perry launched her line back in October 2006, out of her home in Soho, where she was custom designing for friends and locals. Not only can you find her amazing Women’s pieces ripping the runways but she also offers amazing finds for children and for the home!

Her collection for Fall/Winter 2014 is all about shape and a focus on the style of the 1960s! In the creation of these exaggerated looks, Lisa uses unusual fabrics like felt and fabric foil, keeping it funky and fresh along with amazingly rich colors.

Lisa usually begins her design processes with the inspiration of her favorite pieces of art or by her favorite architect. This season, she was inspired by artist Donald Robertson, who makes art out of gaffer tape and also happens to be one of the founders of MAC Cosmetics.

Check out some of my favorite looks from the show!

Off The Runway: Rachel Roy Fall 2014

IT’S FASHION WEEK, ITS FASHION WEEK!!! One day I will be there in the flesh, but in the meantime, I am bringing you my favorite show from today, live from my bed, in my fuzzy socks and leggings!

I was super excited about the collection from Designer Rachel Roy and usually I don’t find too many looks I love from her line when I am browsing through our local Macy’s, but this collection is FIRE!

Her inspiration behind the FW 2014 line is “to make looking feminine-but-cool as simple as possible,”
You will see many dresses, skinny pants, jackets (which I absolutely LOVE a great jacket).

The line pairs printed silks with luscious lace details and a dabble of tweed and leather. The line gives me that Beverly Hills Cop, 80s vibe and I would totally rock it!
The accessory choices paired with the line are to die for especially the sassy leather moto gloves, long leather elbow gloves (very Olivia Pope, the best friend in my head) and amazing metallic and fur clutches.

Check out some of my favorite looks straight off the runway!

NYFW Favorites: Alice + Olivia Fall 2013

So the must see, must attend, compilation of designer shows otherwise known as New York Fashion Week is underway and girls, do I have some drool worthy looks for you!

If you’re not familiar with Alice + Olivia.. then you need to GET familiar! But no worries, your girl is here to hook you up with the 411! A+O is a contemporary women’s clothing brand and celebrity favorite, launched in 2002 by designer & founder Stacey Bendet.

For Fall 2013, Alice & Olivia gives us texture and layers with an array of metallics, leathers, wools, lady like lace detailing and patchwork faux fur. I know.. you’re really over these mounds of snow & already pumped up for spring but I promise this is good!

Instead of traditionally walking the catwalk, models posed against a beautiful vintage-like backdrop! No matter what your personal style may be, you will no doubt fall in love with SOMETHING if not all the pieces from the collection.

Check out some of my faves!

Peep the pumps, it’s a face with sunglasses on! Sooo Cute!!

Very 1980s with the tulle skirt and leather quilted jacket. Love It!

A little menswear inspiration!

I definitely have some pieces on my want list, what’s on YOUR list??

Cee you soon!<3
